- Mercredi 25 avril : Anzac Day
ANZAC Day on April 25 is a national day of remembrance and commemoration, that remembers all Australians who have served and died in war and on operational service. The 25th marks the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) 1915 landing at Gallipoli, Turkey in World War I. Dawn services, wreath laying, marches and commemorative services are held across Sydney and NSW, with the main Dawn Service held in Martin Place at The Cenotaph, at 4.15am. The main ANZAC Day March in Sydney starts at 9am, on the corner of Elizabeth Street and Martin Place, while the main Commemoration Service will be from 12.30pm at the ANZAC Memorial, next to the Pool of Reflection. The official ANZAC Day commemorations conclude in the evening with the short Sunset Service, from 5pm at the Cenotaph. Another time-honoured ANZAC Day tradition is two-up games in pubs and clubs across NSW, which originates from WWI, when Australians played two-up in the trenches and on troop ships. And of course, you can also honour Australian servicemen and women at the ANZAC Day Cup rugby league match between the Roosters and the Dragons at Allianz Stadium!
