If you cannot work and have lost income due to a restricted movement order or lockdown, you may be able to get the COVID-19 Disaster Payment.

If you’re getting an eligible Centrelink payment, you may be able to get $200 per week if you have lost either 8 hours or more, or a full day’s work after 3 August 2021.

If you’re not getting an eligible Centrelink payment, you may be able to get $450 or $750 per week depending on the number of hours of work you have lost.

Go to servicesaustralia.gov.au/covid19disasterpayment to check if you are eligible and for more information about how to claim.

There is also other financial support if you have been affected by COVID-19.

You may be able to get the Pandemic Leave Disaster Payment if you cannot work and either:

  • a state or territory health official has told you to isolate or quarantine because you are a close contact of a confirmed case or have COVID-19, or
  • you are caring for someone with COVID-19.

There is also longer term financial help for people who are eligible.

To find out what financial help is available to you, go to servicesaustralia.gov.au/covid19 or call 131 202 to speak with us in your language about Centrelink payments and services.
