Sydney Fish Market’s 36 hour Christmas Marathon

Nothing says Christmas Down Under like surf, sun and seafood. When it comes to the latter the Sydney Fish Market has you covered. From 5 am on Wednesday the 23rd of December to 5 pm on Christmas Eve, the market will be staying awake for the annual 36-hour Christmas Marathon.

Australians gearing up for the Christmas Day BBQ have flocked to the marathon for over twenty years to stock up on the best fresh produce in the city. Whether your looking for prawns and oysters, or fine wines and kitchenware, the market has something for everyone. Get amongst the madness and browse for hours, and when you’re ready to drop, head down to the boardwalk restaurants for some delicious fresh seafood.

Each year over 100,000 people have flocked to the market, and this year there’s a very special guest making an appearance. Santa Clause will be dropping by on Saturday the 23rd from 11 am- 1pm, and on Sunday the 24th from 10 am- midday, to spread the cheer and maybe do some last minute shopping of his own.

For a fun day out for the whole family, or a late night shopping extravaganza, be sure not to miss this annual event.
